Lake Norman State Park
Duke Power donated approx 1400 acres of land on Lake Norman in 1962. Today The park has miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Canoeing and swimming are also avaliable. Each year since 2006, NCARS has hosted a 4 hour adventure race and clinic for people new to the sport. Directions |
US National WhiteWater Center
North Carolina offers hundreds of attractions for entertainment, but there is nothing like the adventure of the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The USNWC is the best place for family and friends to play outdoors and have fun. Linville Gorge/Lake James
The Linville River with its source high on Grandfather Mountain has, by its tremendous scouring action, formed one of Eastern America's most scenic and rugged gorges.
