Home Lake Norman State Park |

Duke Power donated approx 1400 acres of land on Lake Norman in 1962. Today The park has miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Canoeing and swimming are also avaliable. Each year since 2006, NCARS has hosted a 4 hour adventure race and clinic for people new to the sport.
DIRECTIONS TO LAKE NORMAN STATE PARK:
From I77 go north of Charlotte to exit 42. Turn left on state road 21 for about 3.0 miles. At the brown state park sign in Troutman turn left onto 1303/ Wagner Rd for about 1.0 mile. At the next brown sign, turn right onto State Park Rd for 3.6 miles. Enter the park. Go about .5 miles, just over the bridge, and turn left into the parking lot where the sign indicates “Itusi Mountain Biking Trail.” The start/finish for 2011 NCARS #1 will be nearby at the Heron Pavilion along the lake. For group camping, continue on the park road about 1 mile, turn left at the sign directing you to Group Camping. For swimming, follow the park road to the end of the park and follow the signs. |
